What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy (OT) is the use of purposeful activity to maximize the independence of children and adults who are limited by a physical injury or illness, a developmental or learning disability, sensory integration dysfunction, and neurological or cognitive impairments. OTs facilitate  patients performing everyday tasks such as getting dressed, playing, writing, eating, driving, bathing, sleeping, etc.

Vertex Therapy Services provides:

  • Free Occupational Therapy Screenings

  • Comprehensive Evaluations

  • One-on-One Sessions

  • Group Sessions

  • Telehealth/Video Call Sessions

Services include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in home, school, and social situations. OT services help people recovering from injury to regain skills, and provide supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
